It was the first day of school. Microbiology was not bad. Eugene and I managed to get quite a nice slide of Staphylococcus aureus. Normal crystal violet stain. One of the better slides I have prepared so far. The last time I tried to Gram stain in SJI... not too successful though. Probably due to contamination.

And German class was not bad, even though I was quite tired. Maverick made me laugh uncontrollably! We were picking German names. He's Ludwig! And I'm Wolfgang! Ludwig meets Wolfgang. Where music clashes...

I have no idea why Maverick and Jonathan find Wolfgang so funny... Maybe it's the "gang" part? I had that German feeling when I spoke. And I was laughing. It's contagious. The class was also laughing.

So tomorrow's physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry. Great... Thermodynamics, equilibria, rate equations... I am going to know you inside out! And yes, it's back to the basics of sharp, principal, diffuse, fundamental! Pauli exclusion principle! Wolfgang Pauli! Woo! I'm speaking Wolfgang and German again!

Approximately ten excuses for not doing homework:
I accidentally divided by zero and my paper burst into flames.
I could only get arbitrarily close to my textbook. I couldn't actually reach it.
I have the proof, but there isn't room to write it in this margin.
I was watching the World Series and got tied up trying to prove that it converged.
I have a solar powered calculator and it was cloudy.
I locked the paper in my trunk but a four-dimensional dog got in and ate it.
I couldn't figure out whether I am the square of negative one or I am the square root of negative one.
I took time out to snack on a doughnut and a cup of coffee, and then I spent the rest of the night trying to figure which one to dunk.
I could have sworn I put the homework inside a Klein bottle, but this morning I couldn't find it.

Here's another joke:

Get it?

SCL Orientation '08

I made myself busy at the SCL Orientation 2008 for the past three days.

It's a long way to NYP... It's a long way, to go... I take about 1.5 hours to commute between home and school. It's just a bit longer, compared to SJI. So no grumbles.

No amazing anecdotes from the orientation. But I think my class MB0802 is not bad. And our OGLs, Shang Feng and Aida were very (tending to infinity) friendly.

Last night, a few of us had a mass conversation on MSN that quite rocked. Edwin got nailed by many of us... Haha... I haven't had such a good laugh on MSN for quite some time already. And for that I have to thank my classmates and OGLs.

I am still waiting for the photographs we took outside the library!
